What is a Optex Video Close-Up/Wide View Lens to be used for?

I have an Optex Video close-up/Wide-view Lens Model# VA-0311 made in Japan that will attach to any of my Sony a200 lenses...in what type of situation would I best use it for.

I'm new to Photography but do know the basics, but lens types always confuse me at first...

this style of modifier would be used for a number of things

it will widen your viewing range (eg. you want a larger group of people in the shot)

these types of modifiers are also used for landscape and architectural work in photography.

Contact lenses have been used as a form of special effects in the movie industry for quite a while, and have exponentially improved in effect as time has passed over the years. Using software they can simply make it seem that the look is present on the eyes of the actor, as well as add additional effects such as animated eyes, that will appear to swirl,spin, or almost anything.

Colored and patterned lenses did add many desirable special effects to the eyes of our favorite actors in past movies, and will continue to in the future, despite the slow and inevitable takeover of video editing software.
