Anyone know of a good lens for a Sony DSLR with a large aperture to achieve nice depth of field?

Also I'm kind of on a budget and looking for the most bang for my buck. Thank you.

You can look for a Minolta lens

As far as a large aperture achieving a nice depth of field, you are either calling selective depth of field, as in very little at large apertures or great depth of field using small f/stops (small aperture).

If you want to work with Bokeh then something like a 50mm f/1.4 or 85mm f/1.4 will do that for you.

As you can see, Sony and Minolta lenses are rather expensive, one reason so many photographers buy Nikon and Canon cameras .. the list of available new and used lenses at reasonable costs is amazing.

See if you can find some good used Minolta lenses in those focal lengths.
