Is there any way to increase the sound in a video?

My buddy has a GoPro helmet cam, and we used it today to teach my brother how to ride a dirtbike. In the manual, it states that for stuff like dirtbiking, shifter karts and so on, to use the "low" volume. If we use "hi" volume it said it will be raspy and not sound good.

We did it on low volume setting, but its just so low. The only way I can hear it on my laptop is to turn it all the way up, and put my ear next to the speaker.

Are there any programs or anything that I can do to increase the volume on these videos?? I think the are .avi files.

If you want a temporary solution then download VLC Player. Open ur Files and press ctrl + up keys and the volume will go to 400% more. If its still low click on Tools and extended setting and turn on the equalizer. On the far left turn up the the Pre-Amp and u will hear lots more.

If u want permanent solution then that requires encoding the video professionally and messing with audio filters with encoding software. This can take hours!

New features such a colour screens, wireless remote controls, wide angle lenses and innovative mounts are being focused on and in our view point, these features are as important, if not more important, as the video quality that the camera delivers. After all if you can’t use your helmet cam easily, quickly and hands-free in the toughest of sports situations then it’s not fit for purpose.

So, back to the point; what is HD? High definition recording is the quality captured by the recorder in terms of the video’s resolution. The answer to whether you really need a HD helmet cam can be answered by asking yourself another question: what am I going to use my helmet cam’s footage for? If you have a HD enabled TV then go for it! If you are going to upload your footage to the net or watch it on a normal TV, then having a HD helmet camera is more of a nicety then a necessity.
