camcorder black lcd screen.?

i can playback the previous videos but cannot make the new ones..when i try to make the new movie all i get is a black screen.. the voices are properly recorded but not the picture..lcd remains black n thats all that is recorded..ive tried everything...changing the cassette, removing the memory card,etc but all in vain..plz can any1 help me!!!!!
